She studied literature at Ewha Womans University and Seoul National University and pursued visual design at the Graduate School of Hongik University. After graduation, she worked as the publishing team leader at the design studio AGI Society. Starting with her master’s thesis, Photography as Text and Society as Image: Handling of Photography in Twen」 (2006), she has focused her research on the intersections of photography, text, and design. Currently, she runs the photography book publishing house Aprilsnow (사월의눈), which continues her exploration of these themes. To date, she has curated five photography books and contributed numerous articles on graphic design to various publications. Her authored works include 10 Art Directors of the World (Ahn Graphics, 2009) and Bb: From Basel to Bauhaus (PaTI, 2014, co-author). She also co-translated Graphic Design: A User’s Manual (Semicolon, 2015).

Chae Hee-joon

Specialized in Korean typography at Kaywon University of Art and Design. Focused on font production, he is an active member of the design studio FORMULA. He has released typefaces such as Cheongwol, Cheongjo, Choseol, Goyo, Shinsegae, Tal, Classic, Giha, and Omin. Passionate about creating typefaces, he enjoys the process of detecting and studying subtle differences in letterforms.

Valentina Vergara

Valentina Vergara is a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator who’s interested in using design as a catalyst for change. She’s collaborated on projects addressing gender disparity in graphic design education and continues to explore ways in which she can dismantle oppressive design thinking and continue to advocate for and uplift marginalized perspectives.
Yoon Ho-seob

Yoon Ho-seob is an environmental activist and South Korea’s first Green Designer. An emeritus professor of visual design at Kookmin University’s College of Architecture, he has pioneered work that combines design and the environment, education and the environment, and develops and provides design works to support environmental movements by students and private organizations. Lee Jeong-eun

Lee Jeong-eun received her master’s degree from the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
